MFHS students helping student in need.

I come to you asking for the communities help. My daughter and a few friends came to me with an issue, and I can't sit back idly after hearing their pleas. Mariah Canchola, Ryan Dzurisin, Bianca Ortiz, Brady Elwartowski, and Stephanie Amazquita have a Senior classmate that has captured their hearts. Their classmate Dre Spillman has had his share of life difficulties. I know enough that it is not my story to share, however there is a story that hasn't always been so happy. Dre is currently living with the Liscum family, trying to get through his senior year of high school and hopefully make it to college. He works as much as possible at our local Walmart. Dre is always trying to get a ride to work after school. He doesn't want to put all the responsibility on the family he lives with. The Liscum family is currently trying to get his Driver's license while the school year ends.

Here is where the five kids listed above are asking for help. They want to find a way to help Dre by raising money for him to own a car. They want to

surprise him; although this is a challenging goal to accomplish, they are determined to do something to make a positive difference in Dre's life.

Since he makes a positive difference in their lives, he is always smiling, in a great mood, and helps make everyone around him happy. He truly cares about everyone he comes in contact with. These five kids want to make a difference in someone else's life and do what they can to help. I want to show these kids they can make a difference even as teenagers.

Dre deserves this, and he has pushed through his hardships to graduate and hopefully get into college. Your help would certainly be appreciated to help this kid start on the right track into adulthood, but also teaching these kids that having a kind heart and good intentions always makes a difference.
