Hi everyone,
This is our beautiful pug, Oli, who means the absolute world to us. Back in May/June, Oli had to undergo surgery to remove what was suspected to be cancer in his testicles. Thankfully, the vets were able to successfully remove them, and during surgery we were told there was no sign of cancer, just twisted testicles.
Oli’s recovery, however, was not easy. His stitches split open during healing and it took over a month before they finally dissolved. Despite this rough recovery, Oli bounced back and returned to being his happy, loving self.
Sadly, in December, we noticed a sore under Oli’s bottom which quickly turned into a lump. This was completely unexpected, as Oli had seemed healthy and well. After taking him to the vet for a check-up, we were devastated to be told that Oli does have cancer, and that it has spread throughout his back legs, with multiple lumps under his skin and beneath his bottom.
We were told Oli was in a lot of pain and were prescribed steroids. The vets advised that surgery may not be worth it, as the cancer could spread again, and suggested we begin end-of-life care. We were sent home heartbroken.
For a few days, Oli experienced incontinence with both urine and stool, which caused further soreness and discomfort. Thankfully, this has now stopped. Despite everything, Oli is still a happy little dog, full of love, and doing incredibly well for his age of 10 years old.
Because Oli is still enjoying life and showing so much strength, we are now considering surgery to give him more time and a better quality of life. We want to give Oli every opportunity we can.
Any support—whether through donations or sharing—would mean the world to us and help cover veterinary care, surgery, medication, and ongoing treatment. We are so grateful for any help during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Oli ❤️
