Hi, my name is Mona and due to an inattentive car driver, my son was horribly injured in a motorcycle accident in Lubbock TX on 2/25/24. He didn’t deserve this. He was wearing all of his protective gear and obeying traffic laws. Eye witnesses and video prove the car driver failed to yield right of way in an intersection which led to this accident. The car driver received a citation and walked away unscathed. My son sustained life-threatening injuries. He’s been in the hospital for the last three weeks and is still in hospital- he has a very long road to recovery. His major injuries: Aortic transection, right femoral artery transection, spinal fractures, open book pelvic fracture, rib fracture, pneumothorax, right femur fracture, left wrist fracture, left toe fractures, urethral injury, open lacerations to both legs, nerve damage to right leg.
Car driver had insurance but the coverage he had will not pay much for this lengthy hospitalization.
Cody had just purchased his bike new, and as we all know the moment you ride it out, it depreciates- so the insurance will not completely cover his loan. Plus while he has good medical insurance with his job, he still has deductibles he will have to pay for his hospitalization and he will have to pay a percentage of all testing, etc. He’s gone through 3 surgeries with metal plates in his pelvis and spine, repair of his aorta. He will have many follow up appointments, testing, etc.
I thought I would create this just trying to help him not have to suffer financially in his journey to recovery. Physicians say he may or may not regain function in his right leg over the next few months. We ask everyone to pray specifically for that leg to recover, please.
