Help Greg Kick Cancer

Hi, everyone! My name is Nicole Abraham, and I hope to get some help for my sister Nina Hill, her husband Greg, and son Ryan.

About a week ago, while on their yearly hunting trip to Northern Minnesota, my brother-in-law, Greg, started having some pain that prompted an urgent trip to Grand Itasca Hospital, about 45min away. Doctors sent Greg for a CT Scan and found a large mass on his right kidney and at this point, they were pretty positive it was cancer. They told him he needed to have his right kidney removed as it is enlarged. He needed to see a Urologist as soon as he got home to schedule this surgery.

After Greg and Nina made the rough trip back home, more tests were done, and they found the mass to be 11cmx7cmx8cm. It was confirmed that Greg has a rapidly growing tumor (about the size of his kidney) and that it's Renal Cell Carcinoma(aka Kidney Cancer). The next step is to make sure the cancer hasn't spread elsewhere. He went for a chest x-ray and additional bloodwork, and so far, it looks like the cancer hasn't spread, but other tests will need to be done to confirm. If it did spread, he will need chemo before surgery.

Today(11/21), Greg met with a Urologic Oncologist. After reviewing the scans, the doctor said the tumor is on the bottom half of the right kidney but is growing. The doctor said normally, they would try and save the healthy part of the kidney, but because of the size, the whole kidney needs to be removed. The size of the tumor is also concerning.

Greg and Nina are waiting for the phone call to schedule the removal of his right kidney. Once that is scheduled, he will need more testing done before surgery.

As Nina and Greg try to navigate through this unexpected news, the world keeps moving along. Greg and Nina both work very hard and this has now put a wrench in their lives. Greg is not able to work right now and even after surgery, recovery time is about 8 weeks. With Greg out of work for the next 2-3 months and Nina needing time off to be there with Greg and to help him recover, their bills will not just disappear.

Greg and Nina have the biggest hearts, and their 10 yr old son, Ryan, is just the sweetest! I want to show them how much they are loved. So I created this gofund me to show them how much support and love they have behind them. The money would go towards medical bills, monthly bills and their every day living for the next few months. If you can donate anything, it is greatly appreciated. Any amount will help them get through this difficult time.

My goal is to help raise enough for them to focus on Greg's recovery and not stress about bills and groceries.
