Electric attachment for wheelchair

Hi my name is Conor McAuley and I’m a wheelchair user with DMD, for the last couple of weeks I’ve been doing an internship. I travel to this internship by train and through the help of my electric ORacing wheel attachment that connects to the front of my manual chair. I got this wheel back in 2019, but they only last for a couple of years and the HSE don’t fund for them. My wheel has started to need repairs very often. I had to pay €800 for a new battery just a couple of months ago, but unfortunately my wheel is at a stage where It’s beyond repair. I’m going to try get it back up and running for the time being, but I’ve gotten as long as I possibly can out of it, but I need a new wheel.Without It I won’t be able to make the trip up and back to my work & I will lose a lot of my independence that this amazing piece of technology has given me. I hate asking and I never usually ask for anything, but this is important as without this wheel I’d most likely have to give up my internship & a lot of my independence, which I really don’t want to do!, as I’ve put a lot of hard work into getting this opportunity.  They unfortunately don’t come cheap and I just can’t afford to pay for another one at 5000 euro I honestly hate doing this, but sometimes the option is to ask for help ❤️  If you could donate, I would really appreciate it, but if you can’t I completely understand.  If you could get the word out by even sharing this fundraiser I’d really appreciate it!
