Shawn's Medical Fund

A few weeks ago our lives changed.  My boyfriend Shawn Brady suffered multiple strokes on both sides of his brain.  He was in the hospital for six days.  He is home now.  His doctors say that it could be a significant amount of time before there are any noticeable changes.  He has lost his short term memory and his long term is in and out.  He is able to walk and speak but both are very slow.  He also was diagnosed with high blood pressure.  In addition to this Shawn suffers from panic attacks and seizures.   I have had to stop working completely to take care of him.  We have no insurance and I have applied for everything I possibly can for him.  His Social Security Disability Claim was denied and I have no choice but to get an attorney to appeal it.  That can take up to 2 years.  His follow up care recommends that he see a Cardiologist &  Neurologist.  As I found out neither are cheap. I managed to find a Neurologist that does self pay.  Shawn needs these funds ASAP.  He also is required to have a heart monitor.  I have been unable to find a Cardiologist thus far.  He is on 2 blood pressure medicines and a blood thinner :(  .    Every little bit helps a great deal.  I mananged to get Food Stamps for him which is a blessing.  I am also grateful to the family and friends who have helped us thus far.  Shawn & I do not like to ask for help at all and this is very hard for us.  It is a day to day task for both of us.  Especially for me because he does not remember alot.   I will continue to stay strong and vigilant for Shawn.  He is everything to me.  Thank you !!!!!
