Hello, I'm Jennifer Journey. On Oct 2nd at 1 pm, we unfortunately had an electrical fire break out in our dining room while my husband and I ran to the gas station. Our daughter, Lilly, was upstairs in her room at the time when she heard all the smoke alarms going off. Smoke then started pouring into her room. She was thankfully able to run down the stairs, trying to stay as low as possible to get out of the house. She was able to make it out without any injuries, thank God . We were only gone about 8 minutes. Lilly called 911 immediately, and the firemen showed up within minutes. I just want to say how proud we are of our daughter! I am so thankful that none of us were hurt and my neighbors were all safe. Our house is a total loss though. We are staying at a hotel for the time being, looking for a place to live while dealing with all the things.

So many people have reached out to me during this very difficult time. I will be eternally grateful . We now face the challenge of finding a new home and replacing essential things needed to live our day-to-day lives.

Anything and everything is appreciated, no matter how big or small. Any advice is appreciated too.
