Jamaica Fieldwork Fall 2016

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Maclaine Garrison, and I am currently an Occupational Therapy Student at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, GA. I'm excited to be participating in a fieldwork through my program to go to Jamaica to serve some incredible people. We will be in Jamaica for one week in November, 2016. While on this trip, we will be providing wheelchair adaptations, education for caregivers and clients on how to work through their daily lives in the most functional way, setting up intervention treatments, and loving on both children and adults who live there. We will be working with Mustard Seeds, a community who houses people of varying disability, ranging from children with HIV, autism spectrum, severe physical disabilities or abnormalities, and more. Some of these people have been dropped at Mustard Seeds simply because there was no where else for them to go. I am so passionate about being able to go and serve these people in whatever way they need - whether that looks like providing a meal, having a dance party, or simply just holding someone who isn't used to being accepted as they are. If you choose to support this trip, you will be directly supplying much needed equipment to those who need it, therapy to those who would otherwise go without, and furthering our education and skill as future therapists. Thank you so incredibly much for your support and thoughts as we begin to plan for this amazing journey!
