On April 1st, Amy gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Vivienne Sullivan (Vivi). Sadly little Vivi was born with something called a Congenital Diaphramic Hernia (CDH). Her first moments were of a very sick infant fighting for her life. After two weeks on ECMO support, she was able to go into major surgery to rearrange the necessary organs. Now she is undergoing the long road of recovery in the NICU unit.

As she is expected to remain there for an undetermined amount of time, Amy and Kevin will need the support of their community. Until Kevin returns to work as a Pilot in the next few weeks, they split their time between caring for 2 year old Catie at home and at the hospital with Vivi. Very soon Kevin will have to start going back on trips and Amy will have to do shifts of this on her own.

This GoFund me is not simply a place for donations but also a place to discuss a variety of ways to support the Sullivans as well as shower them with kind words and love during this tough time.

Below is a list of ways we can help:

As you can imagine, hospital bills are ever mounting, as well as costs for extra babysitter hours, gas for the constant back and forth from the hospital and the extra meals on the go. It adds up quickly so any donations to this account will go directly to these costs.

Gifts that would be helpful:

1. Sleepers and clothes with buttons (no zippers) too many lines and IVs to use zippers. Size 3-6 month and 6-9 months

2. Gas cards

3. Favorite childhood chapter books for them to read to Vivi. (They’ve read her charlottes web, Peter Pan and are reading her Harry Potter now. It’s a crucial part of the bonding and healing process for Vivi to hear their voices as much as possible.

4. Cards of encouragement. We can only imagine how isolating an experience like this can be.
