Mexico Trip for Mr. and Mrs. C

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Lockhart and I'm an alumnus of Calvary Christian School. I was Elizabeth Getty back then and graduated in 1990. I loved my time there so much that I returned and taught there for 16 years. Throughout the years, I have always kept in contact with Mr. C. I was his science and PE student, then his coworker, and now I'm his friend.

Mr. and Mrs. C take one vacation a year...to Palm Desert for two nights. That's all they do for their annual vacation because it has to "fit in the budget." God bless him; he's always so planned out and careful. Well, our Mr. C is finally retiring after 44 years of educating students at Calvary Christian School in Santa Ana...wouldn't it be AMAZING if we could all pool our money and buy Mr. and Mrs. C a cruise to Mexico?!

Here is the breakdown of why I am I'm requesting $3250 for the trip...

1. I'm looking at cruises on Carnival and Princess. While interior rooms cost cheaper ($400), I'm hoping to gift them a room with a balcony. This raises the price to almost double. Also, the date plays a big role...the farther out the date is the cheaper the trip is. I'm hoping that we can afford to send him on a cruise in the fall.

2. Drink packages are about $60 per day, per person. If we are able to send them on a five night cruise, that equals $600. I have heard that there are soda drink packages for cheaper, but they don't advertise how much.

3. Excursions run about $100 per person. Again, hoping we can save enough for them to do two together.

4. The $250 is tagged on to cover any fees incured if people donate with their credit cards.

Any extra money gathered could be used for a longer trip (7 days?!) a car to the cruise terminal, dinner at the fancy restautants on board which have an additional cost, more excursions. No matter what, the money we raise will go to Mr. and Mrs. C.

God has blessed thousands of students, parents, and co-workers over the past 44 years with Mr. C. There is just something about this direct, dry witted, kind, intentional, godly, tell-it-like-it-is man that always touches my heart. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way and am hoping we can all thank him for his love and service over these many years.
