As most of you know my mom, her and her husband left for Mexico on Saturday to celebrate their anniversary. She was unresponsive on Monday morning, and was taken to a hospital. After several hours of being there, the hospital was demanding large amounts of money out of pocket since the hospital didn’t take American insurance. The hospital forced my mom and mark to leave and pay out of pocket for the ambulances. The next hospital was 50 minutes away from the hospital and none of the staff spoke English and there are no translators. After some tests, the doctors realize that her arm where she had gotten surgery on after breaking a few weeks prior, got infected and got into her blood. This has caused confusion, and memory loss. She does not know that her husband is Mark and that they are in Mexico. We do not know how long they are keeping her but since they do not take her insurance, we cannot get her back to the United states at the moment. We cannot see her as most of the family does not have passports to get to Mexico. We don’t know the total cost of the hospital stay but anything will help Mark pay for the bills.
