Mexico Earthquake Rescue/ First Aid

Mexico City and neighboring states have been struck by one of the most powerful earthquakes in Mexico's history. The death toll now surpasses 200 people and there is still an urgent need for SEARCH AND RESCUE of collapsed buildings.

My husband, Jose Luis Garza, and friends are collecting rescue and first aid material in Monterrey, Mexico and will travel to Mexico City by road to arrive by Thursday.

He is coordinating with individuals from rescue brigades who are on the ground at this moment in CDMX, and the materials will be delivered to the following collection sites:
- Collection Center administered by Mexican Armed Forces: Parque Espana in Colonia Condesa
- Collection Center administered by Proteccion Civil: Abraham González 67, Colonia Juárez

The funds will be withdrawn by me personally to purchase needed materials such as:
- Shovels
- Picks
- Helmets and masks
- First aid materials
- Gloves
- Rope
- Flashlights
- Batteries
- Non-perishable food

All donations to this fund will exclusively support this specific effort. Every small amount will help because there is so much need!

Thanks for your support!

(I will post pictures of the receipts and items after we have purchased the stated materials with the funds collected)

*UPDATE* (Sept. 21, 3:50pm EST)

My husband and his sister, Claudia, are on the road to Mexico City and should arrive in about an hour. We packed the truck early this morning with all the materials you helped us purchase (pictures below). We are in contact with several people in CDMX that have helped identify the locations with most need. This is a drop in the bucket, but there is still a great need for these materials!

*UPDATE 2* (Sept. 22, 2:00pm EST)
My husband and his sister made it to Mexico City very late last night due to extremely heavy traffic to enter the city. Since there are thousands of volunteers and relief material in the city, they are now headed to the state of Morelos, specifically the municipality of Jojutla. This town is near the epicenter of the earthquake and has been devastated.

In order to ensure the materials go DIRECTLY to those in need, they have joined a convoy with a religious group: Misioneros Servidores de la Palabra, and are also taking additional aid in our truck which was given by others. I will let you know once the materials have been delivered.

THANKS for the enormous outpouring of generosity to make this possible!!!  ❤ ❤  #FuerzaMexico

More updates coming soon!
