Mex-I-Can Biathlon! Take us to the Olympics

Hello amigas y amigos  

We are Raúl and Chris founders and athletes of the first Mexican Biathlon Team and we want to represent our country at the Winter Olympics. 

The idea started two years ago in the state of  Tirol, Austria.  We both live, work, train and laugh in its capital Innsbruck. This area is known as the heart of the Alps and by being the two times winter Olympics venue, it turned out to be the perfect place to start our adventure. 

Every adventure starts with a challenge. Ours, as you can imagine, was the lack of experience in snow and biathlon. But of course, Mexicans love spicy challenges. So, we embraced our  Mex_I_Can mindset. We got second hand equipment and for many months hit the slopes on a daily basis.

Our determination and charisma attracted the attention of the community in and outside the city. Thanks to this awareness it was possible to create a team: coaches, training club, fans, facilities, and the INTERNATIONAL BIATHLON UNION RECOGNITION. These accomplishments turned the challenge into a dream. 

The dream is to grow our federation and support new talent in Mexico. We believe in "lead by doing". Therefore, our main goal is to take this team to the Winter Olympics and inspire the upcoming generations. 

Our young federation does not count with the budget or financial funds to support us on the 20/21 season. This Gofundme campaign will help us with the costs to cover: Professional skis, biathlon equipment, accessories maintenance, uniforms, clothing, traveling expenses,  and competition fees.
