Marley’s Second Chance

Hi I’m Marley! I’m a one(ish) year old girl who’s had a bit of a RUFF life…until a few weeks ago! I was recently rescued off the street, not once, but twice in one day. Before I got my new super cool name, my previous owner left me tied to a pole at a bus station to fend for myself. Lucky for me, I’m really sweet and I reaaalllly like people because my first hero saw me tied up and was nice enough to take me with him. He was soooo kind and gentle, but unfortunately he was down on his luck as well and was homeless...just like me. Little did either of us know, but him taking me for the day would lead me on my journey to find hero number two! So later that evening, we happened to cross paths with a very nice gentleman who saw the condition we were in. He noticed how hungry both of us were so he offered the nice man I was with $50 so that he could get himself some food and other supplies, but best of all, to become my new dad! It was a win for all three of us, and a heck of a deal if you ask me. I was very scared since I had been treated so poorly in the past…I didn’t have a home, a name, or any food…but I went back to my new hero’s home he fed me, gave me a really cozy bed and his girlfriend put on some very soothing music by…you guessed it…Bob Marley! It made me feel so safe and calm…and that’s how I got my new name!

Unfortunately, my original parents didn’t take proper care of me so I had fleas and later, when my new dad took me to the doctor, we found out that I also have Heartworm, which if untreated can be deadly. Man, my dad is racking up those bills already. The good ol’ doc told us my treatment, along with my required visits will cost around a $2500, so if there is any way any of you can help him with these unexpected bills I would really really appreciate it.

Additionally, as kind of a soul as I am because I was living on the streets for so long I’m a little rough around the edges. I have a very tough time trusting other dogs and following rules! All I want to do it lick and give hugs but I keep jumping on everything and everyone, and I know that can be perceived as rude. So if anyone is willing to volunteer to train me that would be so awesome!
