Methuselah Scholarship: Empowering WCHS Class of 2025
Donation protected
The Methuselah Scholarship is named after the oldest recognized tree on earth. In line with its namesake, the scholarship aims at resilience, impact and longevity. This year marks the Third Methuselah Scholarship. Following in the footsteps of the RCHS Scholarship (est. 2015), more than $12,500 has been awarded to 18 different alumni. This year, the Methuselah Scholarship is in collaboration with Williamsburg Charter High School, celebrating the graduating Class of 2025. Provided aid promotes excellence in education and assists matriculating seniors in their Freshman year. Funds can be used for tuition or towards books and materials. With so many political shifts in the education sphere, this year's goal is to expand grassroots communal support for WCHS and to make the sendoff bigger than ever!
This year's essay prompt is:
“There is hope in people, not in society, not in systems, but in you and me.” ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
In your own words, what does this quote mean? Do you agree or disagree? Provide real life examples to support your claim.
There will be 3 winning recipients chosen based on grades and essay submissions. Essays are due April 25th. All contributed funds will be dispensed to WCHS by June 1st and will be presented to winning recipients at Senior Awards Night.
