Metamorfosize

"Metamorfosize" is an international initiative founded by Valencia Selestina to heal the collective wounds and fears surrounding Change, Uncertainties, and the Unknown, through art creation and interactive workshops that explore these subjects.

This project began with a simple call-out on social media in early May 2020, inviting like-minded souls to co-create this experience together. In just 3 short weeks, the team has grown into a 25-person team spanning 6 timezones and 3 continents, consisting of artists, musicians, dancers, circus artists, healers, personal development specialists, and more. The original idea of doing a live-streamed concert has now evolved into an entire week of workshops and interactive activities (the Metamorfosize Workshop Series) leading up to the big concert (the Main Event). And it is the first time all of us are doing it as a team!

The Metamorfosize Workshop Series will feature a variety of offerings, from interactive performances to workshops that are aimed to help people reconnect with their true nature and live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives. We hope for participants to leave these workshops feeling empowered, energized, and inspired to be the best versions of themselves. Some of these workshops will offer a glimpse into the performances that will be showcased at the Main Event, and participants will have the opportunity to connect directly with the artists involved.

The Main Event will feature a collection of performances from various creators in different parts of the world, many of which will be collaborative creations between people who have never met prior to this project. This will be a highly curated event, where each piece seeks to explore the subject of "Metamorphoses" from different angles and perspectives, to engage the audience mentally and emotionally. Many of us are very new to this format of a live-streamed online performance, and are constantly finding ways to solve problems and push boundaries, to go where others have not yet explored.

This page will serve as a way to collect donations for the wonderful team behind the "Metamorfosize" project. Every penny raised will be distributed among the entire team, and will go a long way to support these artists, many of whom have lost their income sources due to the pandemic. We are extremely grateful for your contribution and support for this project, and we hope you have enjoyed our creation as much as we have enjoyed creating it :)


- The Inspiration Behind "Metamorfosize" -

For the past several years, Valencia has become more and more aware of her special connection with the Butterfly and the subject of Metamorphoses. Throughout her life, the universe has continuously directed her to projects and experiences that are related to Metamorphoses, and on hindsight, she recognized that every step of her journey has been specifically curated to prepare her for this stage in her life, where she is ready to bring "Metamorfosize" to the world at large.  

Originally, Valencia had simply intended to do her own metamorphoses-themed dance performance in a live-streamed setting, but decided to invite others to co-create a metamorphoses-themed experience with her instead. With the massive changes taking place in the world right now, Valencia feels that this subject is highly relevant on both the individual and collective level. It is her personal observation that modern civilization, which heavily promotes stability, security, and safety, has encouraged us to become increasingly disconnected with (and fearful of) uncertainties, change, and the unknown, which are unavoidable, natural aspects of the human life experience.

Valencia strongly believes that healing this dysfunctional relationship with change, where we learn to embrace change as a natural part of life, rather than something to be feared, is integral for humanity as a whole to live happier, more fulfilling lives, and to manifest a human society where each individual is an empowered creator in his/her/their own right. As such, she has created this "Metamorfosize" virtual live experience to highlight this issue, and hopefully assist in that healing process on both the individual and collective level.
