Rob here from TheNWOTHM.com, a small, fan powered independent site celebrating and supporting the nwothm movement.

Since launching in 2023, our mission has stayed the same. It is about the music, not the profit. Over the few years we have been active, we have covered countless bands through news, reviews, interviews, and features. Whether a band is well known or completely underground, every artist deserves a platform where true metal is taken seriously. From the smallest band starting out in a rehearsal room to the biggest names in the movement, we aim to cover it all. Seeing how much our work helps bands around the world is what makes everything we do worth it.

Because we remain fully independent and not profit driven, the site relies on community support to stay online. Each year we work toward making the project fully self sustaining so we can continue focusing entirely on the music and the bands who keep this scene alive. We want this platform to remain open to everyone, and we need your help to keep it alive.

How TheNWOTHM.com Was Formed

TheNWOTHM.com began in early 2023 from a simple spark: a renewed passion for the traditional metal sound. After several years away from writing, it was the music and this movement that pulled me back in. What started as a small personal project quickly grew into something much bigger.

In the early days, it was just me reaching out to bands, securing interviews, writing articles, and slowly building an audience. As the site gained momentum, I connected with a handful of like minded fans who shared the same dedication to the nwothm movement. From there, a small but incredibly committed team formed.

Today, the site is run by a tight group of passionate volunteers from around the world. We may be small, but every person on the team puts in real time, real effort, and real heart to make a difference. Every review, every interview, every feature is created by fans who genuinely care about the music and the artists behind it. Their work is the reason the site continues to grow, evolve, and reach more people each year.

What began as a one person vision has become a collaborative effort driven by passion, community, and a shared love for true metal. Now, in 2026, our small team continues to push forward, stronger and more dedicated than ever.

Our Values and Goals

From the start, TheNWOTHM.com has always been about the music. We are not here for gossip or negativity. We shine a light on bands of all sizes, signed or unsigned, from anywhere in the world, because every voice in the traditional metal scene matters. Our mission is to celebrate the movement, support the artists, and build a global community grounded in respect, passion, and heavy riffs.

Achievements

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the beginning of 2025 marked a new chapter for us. Through crowdfunding, we introduced a fresh logo and updated branding that reflect our growth, evolution, and renewed energy.

In late 2025, we ran another successful GoFundMe campaign that helped us cover essential site costs so we could stay focused on the writing. Without the kindness and passion of this community, the site would not be here today. Thank you for believing in what we do.

Our 2026 Fundraiser

We are now launching a new campaign to cover the next year of hosting, maintenance, and essential running costs. These are the core expenses that keep the site stable, fast, and active, and they allow us to keep expanding our coverage without compromising our independence.
