Hi, My name is Milo - student and almost captain :-)!

I am 15 years old and I am in 5th at Christelijk Gymnasium Utrecht in The Netherlands. In November I will board the ship Artemis for the biggest education adventure of my life, while crossing the Atlantic Ocean!

I will spend 6 weeks on this amazing tall ship visiting 3 continents, sailing from Europe to Africa to South America!

Together with 29 other students and 4 teachers and boat staff. For sure a fun crowd to be with during these 6 weeks!

Next to the fun it is also serious because we will do our school work every morning 6 days per week and we'll also work on the ship. Next to learning for school we will be taught how to sail such a giant ship and boat life but also navigation, marine biology and astronomy.

When we reach land we'll do excursions and see a lot of different cultures. It's a once in a lifetime amazing education experience!

Unfortunately I am not able to fund this adventure by myself so I am asking for your help. I do all the things I can do of course, like working in a restaurant in the weekends and other fundraising events. I am required to raise this money by myself before the trip in order to join.

Hola, soy Milo, estudiante y casi marinero.

Tengo 15 años y curso 1º de Bachillerato en el colegio Christelijk Gymnasium Utrecht en Los Países Bajos. En Noviembre subo abordo del velero Ártemis rumbo a la mayor aventura personal y educativa de mi vida:

Junto con otros 29 estudiantes cruzaré el Atlántico en un impresionante barco de 3 mástiles. Navegaré durante 6 semanas visitando 3 continentes. Partimos desde Europa rumbo a África y desde allí cruzaremos a Sudamérica!

A los estudiantes nos acompañan en el barco 4 profesores y por supuesto una tripulación experimentada.

Durante el viaje tenemos clases de colegio habitual por las mañanas y por las tardes tenemos planificadas tareas de mantenimiento del barco y aprenderemos a navegar en equipos multidisciplinares. Por si no fuera suficiente nos van a enseñar biología marina y astronomía.

Una vez lleguemos a tierra, al otro lado del Atlántico, tendremos la oportunidad de visitar varios países y conocer sus culturas.

Este viaje va a marcar un antes y un después. Va a ser una experiencia educativa que me va a acompañar el resto de mi vida.

La parte más dura viene ahora: esta aventura requiere un esfuerzo económico muy importante. Para financiarlo necesito ayuda. Tengo que conseguir el dinero por mí mismo antes del viaje o no podré ir. Ademas de trabajar en un restaurante en mis horas libres, estoy lanzando diferentes campañas y una de ellas es pedir vuestro patrocinio. Para ello voy a escribir diarios de a bordo que enviaré desde el barco a todos mis patrocinadores.

Quiero agradecer de antemano a todos aquellos que contribuyan a hacer mi sueño realidad.
