For Merveille's hip replacements

Greetings,

My name is Suzie and I am fundraising for Merveille's hip replacements.

Merveille was born with a defect that has kept her hips (femoral head) sockets from developing properly. Consequently, there are only ligaments and tendons holding her hips together today. Merveille is 18 years old and she has fought through the pain all her youth. She fought to obtain her high school diploma but told her parents she can not continue to go to school, she can not bear the pain and rejection any longer. In fact, when she attempts to walk, the rubbing of bones against bones creates a sound that she constantly had to explain to others.

It has become unbearable for her parents as well to stand, helpless, watching their daughter become, year after year, less and less capable of participating in activities and now unable to walk without acute pain and inflammation that take days to reduce.

The family does not have health insurance, yet, it is urgent to get Merveille the much needed prostheses in both hips to keep her from ending her life in a wheelchair. The surgeon willing to perform this operation says she is running the risk of becoming paraplegic if for any reason (wrong movement, severe twist, fall, etc...) a nerve gets severed...
