MeRT Therapy to help treat Logan's ASD
Donation protected
Hello we are Kenyon and Fernanda Westbrook,
We want to tell you our story.
We are the parents of a wonderful and loving child called Logan, he is 5 years old and has been diagnosed with ASD and ADHD.
He was diagnosed a little more than a year ago but we could tell by his behavior and development by the time he was 3 years old. We could tell by how he did not start speaking at the age most children do, we then had him seen by a Neurologist, which gave her professional opinion that he was on the ASD spectrum, but she could not diagnose him as ASD is not in her field. However observing Logan's behavior, not socializing or showing affectivity and his speech delay as well has hearing the professional opinion of the neurologist, we decided to start researching and learning as much as we could about ASD in order to help him.
As a result of our research we decided to start Logan on a heavy metal detox, as there is much evidence to show heavy metal poisoning is a leading factor in ASD. We obviously had to pay for the detox out of pocket each month as insurance does not pay for treatments that have a long lasting benefit. Within a couple of months Logan went from speaking a few words to speaking more than 10 words and communicating his needs more efficiently. We kept him on the detox for over a year. I help him tremendously but we felt that the detox had done all it could.
Some time in the middle of the detox he became old enough to go to preschool, so we had him evaluated by Glibert Public Schools Special Education department. They concluded that Logan qualified for an IEP (Individualized Education Program). The IEP would allow Logan a Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist, all of which have helped in his development and continue to help as he is still in an IEP.
About halfway through his Kindergarten year we discovered Stem Cell Therapy for Autism, and found through our own research that it has been shown to be very beneficial in repairing neurons damaged for many reasons, in Logan's case heavy metal positioning. The only thing was that as mentioned before insurance does not pay for treatments that stand a chance to "cure" the ailment. So we had to pay for the treatment out of pocket, We had the money saved for the purpose of purchasing a home, and decided our son's future is more important. We did the Stem Cell Therapy and saw tremendous results the the 5 months that followed. Logan is much more verbal, affectionate, and has much more self control. We can see improvements in his fine and gross motor skills as well. Nevertheless Logan still has problems with controlling his impulses, stimulation seeking (stimming), emotional control and focus.
Along with everything we have done for Logan, we have also given him select supplements that help in the development process of the brain, which are not cheap, because anything of quality is not cheap. We have been giving Logan, high quality Omega 3, highest quality multivitamin (no synthetic vitamins), Lions Mane for his focus and hyperactivity. He is also consistently taking an anti-parasitic blend and highest of quality probiotics, Spirulina, Ionized Magnesium and others, All of which, need I repeat, Insurance will not pay for.
Which brings me to the point of this GoFundMe, to all those who have read up to here, thank you very much for listening to our story, whether you can donate or not.
We are asking for donations to help pay for an advance treatment for several neurological conditions among which include ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The technology I am speak of is called MeRT (Magnetic Resonance Therapy). As you can tell we have gone to great lengths to help our son up to this point and will continue until Logan is free of the "mind prison" known as ASD. However this treatment is, believe it or not, not covered by insurance. The treatment will last 8 weeks with treatment sessions taking place every day of the week for 8 weeks, we have already completed the initial qEEG which in itself was $650, but the treatment in total will be $11,000. We understand everyone has their own financial situations to consider, we thank anyone who can donate even the smallest amount. We will find a way to pay for this treatment either way, because we will not stop fighting for our son, but a little help to lighten the load is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our situation, and if you choose to donate, thank you very much for your generosity and if you are unable to donate for any reason thank you very much for your time.
Sincerely,
Westbrook Family
