This holiday season, I will be celebrating my 5 year anniversary as a songwriter.
To celebrate, I recorded "A Very Royal Christmas EP" which includes:
1. The first song I ever wrote (which happened to be a Christmas song)
2. A NEW Christmas song!!!
3. A song that was originally on my debut LP, but then I re-recorded it for the album's one year anniversary (which coincidentally, was halfway through my career)
4. A NEW song that will be on my upcoming LP, "Royal Love"
5. A cover of Brighten and the Maine's "Merry Christmas Baby" starring many of my closest friends.
So if the EP is already done, what am I raising money for? Well...
100% of ALL proceeds until December 23, 2015 will go toward buying toys that will be donated to the Salvation Army Christmas Angel Giving Tree toy drive.
Donations of $5 or more will also receive a copy of "A Very Royal Christmas EP" (in addition to the warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you help others). Simply provide an e-mail address with your donation and I will personally send it to you.
(EDIT: Okay so I don't actually know if I can see people's e-mail addresses when they donate. So if you're donating for the EP, please provide your e-mail address in the "Add a Comment" field. Thanks!)
Don't want to give me your e-mail address? Visit my BandCamp page to purchase the album there (don't worry, the money still goes toward the toy fund).
Don't like me or my music? You can still donate anyway! Just don't provide your e-mail address! Or specify that you don't want my sappy Christmas tunes clogging up your hard drive when you send the donation. No offense will be taken.
As someone who grew up a spoiled brat (I mean I had the time and resources to learn how to play the guitar... poorly, but still), I never really considered how lucky I was/ am until I grew up a bit. I'd like to, in my own small way, help kids and their families understand that there are so many people in the world who care about them and are willing to help them have that feeling of excitement and jubilation on Christmas morning that many of us may have taken for granted over the years.
