Hi, me and my sister Julie put up this gofundme to raise money to cover our sick cousin’s hospital bill.

Merrychris was diagnosed with breast cancer year 2010 when she was 24 years old. She underwent chemotheraphy, other procedures, and prayed to Mother Mary in the miraculous Simala Shrine in Cebu for a safe recovery. Our whole family helped and supported her journey throughout her 6 years treatment. It was a big relief when her CT Scan showed no signs of cancer after her treatment was done.

Merrychris is a registered nurse and after her chemotherapy, she worked as a nurse in our local community health center and became a school nurse after. In 2013, she met Rommel (her current husband) and in 2017 they got married. However, in 2019, after experiencing difficulty in breathing, she found out that the cancer reoccurred, was already in stage 4 and has spread to her bones. The doctor gave her 6 months to live. At this point, she already has a little one and a half year old boy named Miguel. Merrychris decided to undergo treatment again hoping to beat this cancer one more time and indeed, she did beat it and surpassed the 6 months limit she was given. For almost 5 years now, she continually went to chemoteraphy which is every 21 days to slow down the spread of the cancer. Her decision to get the treatment is for her to live longer for her family especially her young son. She continued working as a school nurse while on treatment. She only stopped to do so when in the last couple of months, she's been having a hard time getting up due to the effect of the cancer to her bones. On Sep.8, 2024, she was rushed to the hospital due to an infection. She had multiple seizures and did not wake up for a couple days. Merrychris is one of the fiercest fighters of this disease as she has been trying her best to overcome the battle with cancer.
