Merry was only 37 right before her divorce she felt a bump on her breast, She mentioned to her husband that I need to see a doctor but her husband started laughing at her and said, I hope it's cancer and you'll die. After what he said she stopped herself from worrying about the bump and never wanted to visit the doctor again. Times passed, and she was so disappointed to the point she didn't want to go to the doctor anymore.
One day after a normal argument between the husband and wife he left her alone at home and never came back. She had no idea what to do except cry and sadness. She had no one here in the US (no family) but herself.
After a couple of weeks, she noticed the bump is getting bigger and bigger every single day. She knew something was not right. One day she decided to stand up for herself and finally visited the doctor. The doctor ordered an urgent MRI, Ultrasound, and biopsy of the breast. After the biopsy doctor wanted to see her right away. On the day of the appointment, Doctor said she was diagnosed with breast cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) on both sides and metastasis to the lymph nodes under the right arm (Right axillary). The Original lesion was 3.6CM. Dr. Minch K. Fong asks her to start Chemotherapy at Mission hospital right away, a full mastectomy and radiation. 6 Sessions of chemotherapy started and she was going through the severe side effects just by herself. At home, she was dragging herself to the bathroom and wasn't able to even walk.
It was time to start the Radiation therapy now, 20 sessions of radiation passed and her left breast completely burned. It all took almost a year.
This brings us to the present situation and the challenges that Merry now faces.
She could hear her heart beating at the doctor's office. Unfortunately, a recent CT scan has shown extensive growth in her Hip Now The doctor said there is a new lesion now in her hip and just because of that lesion she needs to do a full Hysterectomy.
Time is now of the essence to try and do everything we can to get Merry the treatment she so desperately needs and deserves. At present, we are looking into further immunotherapy treatment. But meanwhile for the starting cost her insurance won't cover all the costs of the Hysterectomy and she wants to also freeze her eggs so she can have her kids in the soon future after surviving with a better marriage.
Throughout her initial diagnosis and a new way of life, as it were, Merry has continued to show strength and courage. She is a true fighter, which is why we need to get behind our girl and do everything we can.
Every dollar matters. Please help Merry to fight this battle. Thank you for your love and support!
