Anyone who knows Old Chicago - Southgate knows Amy D. On August 31, Amy suffered a stroke while working at Old Chicago. This came as a complete shock as Amy is young and in great health. Since that day, she has been working diligently to get back to work; attending regular occupational and physical therapy, as well as undergoing heart procedures. Amy is an extremely hard worker and a light to all those around her both in and outside of the workplace. She has made close relationships with regulars, offered a smile to everyone who came through the door, and never failed to bring candy for her staff on weekends. Amy is more than our bar manager - she is always there for her staff and never hesitates to help out by staying late, coming in early, running food, or even taking a table or two of her own when needed. Now it is our turn to help her. Months later, Amy is still waiting on disability to kick in. With the holidays, pandemic, and a growing stack of medical bills, now is a less than ideal time to go without a paycheck. Any and all donations are deeply appreciated as Amy works to get back on her feet.
