At only 50 years old, Merrill died on December 3, 2021 from a 4-year battle of breast and bone cancer. She leaves behind her two sons Ryan (23) and Tyler (19). Those fortunate enough to know Merrill knew her as an incredibly kind person with an outstanding sense of humor. Merrill was always willing to help, loved to laugh and loved making others laugh. Even on her toughest days, Merrill always had a smile on her face.
Merrill was a hard worker and loyal employee. She had worked for Lehigh Cement for many years. She was not afraid of hard work and was willing to do whatever it took to make life easier for her family. Many of you will know Merrill from her time in Tupperware, too.
Merrill was, most of all, an outstanding mother to her boys. Merrill lost her husband, father to her boys and love of her life, Todd, to a liver disease 5 years ago this December. Merrill and Todd shared a love of fast cars and were well know in the IMAC Modified Racing World especially at the Edmonton International Speedway. Merrill had spent her life at the track following her parents, Scott and Elizabeth Craig, in their passion.
Merrill was a strong and determined woman but even more so after losing Todd. She fought daily to give her two boys a home they deserved and to chase the dreams they wanted. Her boys were her life. When Merrill spoke of her family, her face lit up with love and pride.
Ryan and Tyler’s shared their parents’ passion for IMAC Modified racing at Edmonton International Speedway. They also had a shared passion for cheerleading. After Todd passed Merrill did everything, she could to keep the boys doing what they loved to do most. Those of you who know Merrill will know how determined she was and how frustrated she was that she couldn’t afford to have both boys doing what they loved to do and would never ask for help. Unfortunately, due to the extreme high cost of racing Ryan decided to concentrate on cheerleading and let his younger brother (who was the better driver…lol) do some racing and cheer. Both boys have competed at the Worlds Level in Cheer representing the highest level of competition in the Cheer World.
As Merrill’s boys begins to navigate their life without her, the burden of these expenses only adds to their loss. Let's pull together and give them the support they need.
