Merlin’s Vet care & Home coming

Finally created a go fund me (although I’ve been hesitant) I’m hoping to provide Merlin with the vet care he needs & also potentially bring him home! Due to the overwhelming response I’ve decided to create this in attempt that he will eventually come home/ receive the care he needs!

Merlin is a stray cat in Riyadh who has been known for his bougee and friendly attitude for years! He’s always been chunky and fed the finest of salmon and steak from a hotel chain, unfortunately during the recent months… Merlin has really deteriorated in his health. His eyes are currently sealed up with an infection with a potential of going blind if left untreated. He has also lost a lot of weight and unfortunately as he cannot see anymore he swipes when you attempt to stroke him (because he isn’t sure if it’s something trying to harm him) this once full of love cat that would want strokes and cuddles.

I have attempted to take Merlin to the vets on multiple occasions thus far, but I have been unable to due to the 45degree heat he tends to hide away in the daytime and normally when he appears it’s time for me to depart and fly home. As I’m only there less than 24hours at a time.

I am due to visit for a 24 hour period mid October, and again at the end of October for a 48 hour period which will allow me to get him to the vets hopefully and provide him the care he needs.

subject to vet approval he will also require vaccinations, microchipping, rabies injection, possible quarantine for arrival into London, blood tests and fit to fly certification which are all costs before he even arrives!

currently I’m seeking support from IAG to see if I am able to get any support in logistics for him to arrive into the UK and awaiting estimated costs.

although we have hit the target which was a complete guesstimate currently of 2K, I have altered this to 3K - I urge you to continue to donate… simply because, any surplus will be donated to the charity that assists in getting him here & also for his continued support and healthcare costs in the uk which include insurance, flea and worming, general health checks, vet registrations etc.
