On May 31st, sadly the life of the bright star we know as Merlin Hayes had unexpectedly been cut short. In a way that was just as unforgettable as his name, Merlin was a charismatic energy that lit up every room he was in and made a positive impact on every person he’d ever met. Merlin made friends from all walks of life. Whenever he participated in sports, organizations or activities from being involved in sport activities and organizations, he announced his genuine character and esteem through actions and kind words. Not only that, he was a true friend. When I call him a friend, I don't say that lightly. Almost everyone has friends, but to have a friend like Merlin was extraordinary. He was selfless, caring, patient, a great listener, loyal and so much more. Merlin was an amazing and genuine person who cared an unforgettable smile, usually accompanied by a hug. There isn’t many people who you can mention his name to and they wouldn’t have something positive to say about him. 


Being a people person was just the tip of the iceberg for him. No matter who you were, he'd be sure everyone felt involved and important. He wanted everyone to be great! He was an example for everyone to say the least. If only he knew the impact he had on those around him. Merlin was a bright star in everyone’s life, and we are all deeply saddened to see him go. Till we meet again. Rest In Peace Merlin
