Merle Richard Moser Jr, nicknamed Bubby by his loved ones, passed away on December, 16th just after 3 am. Merle passed from liver failure caused by Stage 4 Colon cancer. Merle left his family very abruptly and without the funds to have him laid to rest in the way he would have wanted. The strength he had fighting his disease was great and he did not stop fighting until his last moments.

Merle did not want to be cremated. He never wanted to talk about what he wanted unless he was cracking jokes. Those jokes would often involve him saying "bury me in that flower bed" or "out in the woods." That was his way of trying to make light of the situation. The closest answer he ever gave his family was "do whatever you guys want with me." So while we may not know exactly what Bub would have wanted, we do know he wanted to be buried, and that as long as we are happy with his services and burial he will be happy with it.

Funeral arrangements are being done by Sellers Funeral Home. The viewing will be on December 22nd from 10 am to 11am. The service will be from 11 am to 12 pm. Both the viewing and the service will be at the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro. The burial will be immediately following the service at Green Hill Cemetary in Waynesboro PA. The Presbyterian Church was where Bubby planted flowers after he was diagnosed, and was the flower bed he would joke about.

The total cost of the funeral is $12,640. Family members were able to use credit to make a downpayment on funeral arrangements so we could set a date and time for burial and avoid cremating Merle. However, the family needs to come up with the remaining funds to cover the costs of the Funeral Services. Please help the Moser family during this hard time so that they may focus on grieving rather than worry about funeral costs. We are deeply thankful to everyone who has stood by Merle until the end and grateful for any help at all.
