Merimbula Skatepark Concept Design

Hi my name is Pete O'Keefe and I'm the President of the Sapphire Coast Skatepark Association.

 

Merimbula Skatepark as you can see has been due for an upgrade for many years and is completely rundown and basically un usable.

When it rains it fills with water and does not drain. The Skatepark is far too small for the amount of kids wanting to use the skatepark and  has deteriorated beyond repair. 

 

Our local council are aware of the problem and the BVSC staff have completed a community consultation and recommendation for a new  skatepark, however the Council have no money available to allocate toward's the project.

 

Without external funding the skatepark will remain as is.. we need to kick start this project, every little bit counts !

Over the last 3 years we have held over 20 meetings, consulted with councillors, council staff, many other local organisations and have put in 2 Community Project Proposals with NO outcome or commitment from our local council. 

 

The SCSA are committed to see the project go ahead and give our kids and visitors a decent modern skatepark that would also benefit the rest of the community significantly.

 

The money raised here will directly to help pay for the Concept Design Cost which will be around $30000.

 

Your donation will also help the SCSA apply for other available grants funding to pay for the balance of the concept design and ultimately the build cost when when the its time to find funds for the build.
