Meredith's Bucket List

Hello family and friends!

For those who don’t know us, we are Adam and Rebecca. Adam is Jason’s brother, which makes Meredith our sister-in-law. For years many of us have asked – how can we help? We are guilty of doing this too. What is interesting to us about asking this question is that it’s put the burden of answering that question on the patient and caregiver, and sometimes they need folks to show up for them – in any way, expected or not.

So, we’ve decided to show up for them in a big way! Reading Meredith’s latest blog post should make us realize how precious and fleeting time is, and there is still so much Meredith wants to do! Personally, Meredith and I shared the struggle of motherhood. While I have realized that dream through the miracle of adoption, it will be something she will not get to experience directly. She is a mother in many ways – to Chloe and Koda, an aunt to Mia, and an auntie to Maison. But that doesn’t remove the grief of a dream not being realized. It’s a hurt that cuts deep, whether Meredith shows it or not.

She and I always agreed that if kids weren’t in the cards, then travel would be. So for their 5th wedding anniversary, Jason and Meredith are headed to the Dominican Republic for some much-needed R&R. They were supposed to be going to Ireland. But, unfortunately, Chloe’s ACL surgery took precedence when she blew both out at doggie daycare.

Chloe is getting back to her playful self and has made it back up the stairs to cuddle with Mer in bed.

But now funds for additional travel are low and medical bills loom. Knowing that travel may dwindle as time does, we want to help get them anywhere they want to go - as soon as possible, for as long as they can wheel Meredith on the plane!

Please join us in showing up for Jason & Meredith – this isn’t something they are even comfortable with us doing – but we’re doing it! They don’t ask for much but deserve so much. Let’s help them make as many memories together as we can while they can!
