Support for Meredith Tabing Smith’s Memorial Services
Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that we write this post. Our dear Meredith Tabing Smith passed away at the age of 44 in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, August 26, after battling Leukemia.
Meredith was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, colleague, and friend. She married Eddy Smith on October 10, 2020, and together, they raised her 9-year-old daughter, Payton Flores. Meredith joined the Southwest Airlines family in 2005 and loved delivering unrivaled hospitality to customers as a Flight Attendant. Her fun disposition often surfaced as an entertaining jokester. She could easily elicit smiles that were as big as her heart from passengers and crew members. In short, she lived up to the Southwest motto by having “a heart for service.”
When not in her Southwest uniform, Meredith dressed impeccably and donned trendy clothing, her favorite turquoise jewelry, and stylish shoes. She was an animal lover and adored her three dogs, Honey, Smoky and Punky. She had a compassionate soul and would often hand veterans a printed message of gratitude and thanks for their service from decommissioned flags.
We are devastated by this loss, yet comforted in knowing that Meredith is flying high again above the clouds – not by plane, but by her wings. She is our angel, and she will truly be missed. ❤
We will say goodbye to Meredith at memorial services (information is forthcoming). We ask that you consider donating to this fund for these services. We are grateful for every donation at this challenging time.
Dorothy Romero, friend of Meredith.
