Help me afford dental care for Mercy!

Hi there, I'm Scout! You might know me as S. A. Chant, author of some books like Peter Darling. This precious sprite is my beautiful cat, Mercy. During a vet checkup in September, her doctor found that her gums are very inflamed. She needs dental care, ideally within the next 3-4 months, that will potentially involve several extractions to keep her mouth healthy and make sure she isn't in pain. Unfortunately, when it rains, it pours, and I wound up in the hospital that same week with severe nerve pain in my hip and back, which kept me out of work for 6 weeks. After several ER visits and a lot of rehabilitation, I am still working to fix my body enough to get back to work full-time, and I can't afford the care my kitty needs.

The vet isn't certain how many extractions will be necessary, so they've provided me with a range of potential costs from $1392-$3102. I'm fundraising for the upper end of the range because a surprise bill of that amount would be financially devastating for me. If the bill winds up less than the total amount raised with this fundraiser, I'll put the remainder of the funds into a savings account for her future medical/dental expenses. Mercy is getting older and will likely need more regular dental care in the future, and as a freelance writer, I'm not getting richer any time soon!
