Mary woke to the smell of smoke around 1 a.m. on January 7, 2026, and found that her house was on fire. Although she escaped safely, the fire destroyed her home. Amidst this huge loss, she has continued working at her local community center as early as 4 a.m. to prepare and serve food for people in need. Mary gives much and asks little, but now she needs more resources to help restore her home.
