My good Friend / Brother / Ship Mate needs your help.
On the 29th of October Paul had a stroke while in the San Diego pool awaiting a Ship assignment. He currently is in recovery with limited movement and speech. Being from California he is lucky to have family close by. His Mother, sister, brother, daughters, nieces and nephews have all been a big help lifting up his spirts.
I’ve had the pleasure working with Paul on the USNS CHOCTAW COUNTY over in the Middle East where he was my watch partner for over 9 months. For those who have not worked on ships you tend to get to know your watch partner very well. Standing two four hour watches every day while underway, 8 hours of watch in port and 12 hours on the weekends. While underway you tend to exchange sea stores, life experiences and bad jokes. Early on I found out Paul was a father of two beautiful girls, a Vietnam Veteran (NAVY), a hard worker and a picky eater. On his off time you could find him reading his Bible, working out or catching up with family and friends on FACEBOOK. Being in his 70s Paul IS IN AMAZING SHAPE. With his long blond hair, shorts and flip flops you would think he was in his 30s.
These last few months I’ve spoke with Paul on the possibility of him hanging up his steel toes for retirement. He told me he had one last tour in him so he could pay for his oldest daughters wedding. That’s just the man paul is, totally selfless and willing to give his sleeveless shirt off his back to you.
With his bills piling up Paul needs our help. Any contribution will make a Huge difference in Paul’s path to recovery both mentally and physically. Right now he’s looking at months of recovery time in the hospital and post hospital rehab. If your unable to donate money I ask you to please donate some prayers and well wishes. If you have any questions please feel to reach out to me.
Thanks for your time and God bless.
