Hi, my name is Anna Bible. A year and 4 days ago, my family at 538 Anacuitas Street, Mercedes, Texas lost everything due to a flood.
My family’s home was flooded again, yesterday Monday, June 24, 2019.
My brother called the Mercedes PD but was told that they couldn’t help because they didn’t operate the flood gates for the city; the officer didn’t offer to help call the water department to come and open the flood gates. This is the exact same excuse the PD told my brother a year ago.
My sister Sofia and her husband Mariano are now homeless until they can begin again.
It’s so hard to accept that this happened again. They were still rebuilding from the flood last year.
