Mercedes' Breast Cancer Treatment Fund

Hello from the Lucero family. This week we received news we could have never imagined. Mercedes was diagnosed with breast cancer. Needless to say we were all in shock.

This past year our family went through helping our Grandma Ciria through her breast cancer. Mercedes about two weeks ago felt a lump on her left breast, it had started to cause her some pain. Because what our family just went through this prompted her to get a mammogram. The mammogram came back negative, but because of the lump and pain an ultrasound was done (thank goodness). This confirmed she had a mass. A few days later a biopsy was done and the result was breast cancer. Mercedes is only 31 years old and as a family we are devastated. How could this happen to someone so beautiful and young and full of life? Mercedes has a long journey ahead of her and she is so strong, we know she can fight it.

We are reaching out to family, friends and our community to help Mercedes through this journey.

Knowing this time of year is already a lot with the holiday's around the corner, we appreciate any donation you can share. This is going to be a fast moving process. Her treatment plan so far includes a double mastectomy with reconstruction.
