Help Pipa Walk Again
Pipa is a rescue dog who has been with me since she was 6 months. She is the love of my life and she goes everywhere with me. She is now 7 years old and I cannot imagine life without her.
It all happened very quickly. In the morning she was ok during our regular walk. After work I took her on another walk and noticed that she was walking funny and very slowly.
We came home and sat on the couch. When she tried to get up, I realized she couldn’t stand up. I noticed was crawling using only her front legs. Her back legs were paralyzed.
After bringing her to the vet emergency and waiting for 4 hours, they told us they cannot deal with her case. I had to pay for the cost of the visit and pain medication for Pipa, then go to another clinic where she needed to wait until the next day to be seen by a neurologist.
The neurologist who assessed Pipa said it is most likely a paralysis caused by a problem in her spine. He had to do an MRI to confirm what was wrong.
Once the MRI results came, an emergency surgery had to be done to give her the best chances for her to walk again. She had the surgery yesterday (April 17) which cost $8000.
In addition to the surgery, she now has to stay at the hospital for the next 4 days, which brings up the total cost of this emergency to $12,000
Please help me cover the cost to help Pipa walk again. Whatever is on your heart to do, any donation big or small, or sharing this with your friends and family, I greatly appreciate.
