Mental Health Hero Community Scholarship Fund

Thank you for checking out this fundraiser. I am grateful just for the fact that you are here right now 

I'm beginning a three-year journey at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado in August 2022 where I'll be pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I will not just be studying a profession. I will be studying my passion and my purpose.

 

I didn't expect to ever go back to school, but life had different plans! Reflecting back, I've been led and prepared for this new chapter perfectly, as if by diving design

About ten years ago, my life changed dramatically when my younger brother and best friend began to suffer from intense mental health challenges. I didn't know how to handle it, nor did the rest of my family. I became very angry and very depressed and reached a point where I thought, "there has to be a better way to live!" I began making big changes in my life as far as career, personal relationships, and lifestyle. I dove into spiritual teachings and practices and began to teach yoga, give Thai massage, and offer online spiritual development courses. My life has gradually become more and more concentrated on identifying and letting go of the source of all suffering within myself.

 

Over this six-year period, I have uncovered a version of myself that I believe can affect great, benevolent change in this world. In the past I couldn't ask for support because I didn't believe in myself. Now, I am excited to ask because I believe in myself and what I'm doing to a great degree. No support I receive will be wasted. That I am sure of.

 

I'll be working throughout my studies and am taking out student loans for my entire cost of education. I am searching far and wide for scholarships and reaching out here for more support. My goal is to graduate with ZERO student loans so I can hit the ground running, so to speak 100% of donations I receive will go directly to paying off my student loan debt. If donations miraculously exceed my loans I will donate to my classmates to pay off theirs hands
