Mental Health Support Fundraiser

March 24th, 2021, I was sectioned due to suicidal crisis and psychosis. I left the house with a plan to take my own life as the thoughts in my head were unbearable and my emotional state the lowest it had ever been.

 

I thought I'd found a way out as I'd lost hope and didn't have the fight or clarity to see a way forward.

Thankfully it was a mental health first aider and a friend who works as a crisis nurse that had the knowledge and skills to intervene and get me to safety.

 

I feel extremely grateful and lucky to have people in my world who knew what to do but many people don't have access to the vital support that they need and deserve.

 

The wait times for counselling and therapy are shockingly high, and not everyone can afford to pay privately for this essential treatment. We wouldn't let someone walk around with a broken leg for 12 weeks or make someone wait for urgent surgery.

 

I will be Boxing 26th March almost a year to the day my life was saved and will be raising money for 2 inspirational causes.
