Mental Health Matters Mental Health Awareness Month
During Mental Health Awareness Month I will be climbing the Highest Peak in England, Scafell Pike, to raise awareness for those who suffer with problems in mental health.
At the beginning of May I climbed to the summit of Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England for Mental Health month… before the end of May my 9 year old Sister and Brother, who has Cerebral Palsy, are going to climb to the summit of Mount snowdon.
Mental health is a big killer in the UK,
- Over 700,000 take their life each year,
- Over 5,000 of these are in the UK,
- 1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts
- 1 in 14 people self harm
- 1 in 15 people attempt suicide
- 10% of young people self harm
These are all stats from the National Health Service (NHS) and prove low mental health is dangerous and needs attention.
Check on your friends and raise awareness this month for those who may be suffering silently.
Remember it costs nothing to look out for others.
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me
