Hello. I'm back . After almost a five year break, I never thought I would be doing this again! 4 years ago in May 2022 I had my 2nd bowel resection for Crohns disease. Recovery was not simple and I had bilateral PEs (clots on both lungs) . I began my own rehab schedule with walking. Lots and lots of walking... then hiking. Last year, I completed ten Y fan ( 2025). After ten Y fan, I began to feel like I was ready to run again (no great speed more of a jog), then after many attempts I got into the London marathon for 2026 - (a dream I never thought I'd be able to achieve - hopefully I will) . Running / jogging has always been my coping mechanism during difficult and dark times, so I struggled when this was taken away from me through Crohns . Life for anyone can change in a heartbeat - no one is exempt from difficult and dark times. I have lost loved ones through suicide and I have experienced difficult times. I run now for my own mental health and to raise money for The Samaritans so there is help for others 24/7 during those difficult times. I am running the London marathon 2026 for samaritains and all those who will experience difficult times. Everyone. The training had challeneged my comitment and determination. Hitting the road in the rain and wind has NOT been easy. Hitting the treadmill at 9pm after a 12 hour shift has taken all my strengh and I've joined the gum for strength training (I hate the gym) . But, I know it will be worth it. Thanks to the continued support from my amazing family and friends, many who are coming to support me on this journey. I am aiming for a time of 5 hours - so no sprint. I would say it will be my last - but never say never. Please donate. Every little counts .
TO join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit Samaritans, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Samaritans: Samaritans' vision is that fewer people die by suicide. Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland dies by suicide, and every six seconds, somebody contacts Samaritans for help.
