Hi everyone! My name is Carlos and I'm building a menu where all the items are based on mental illnesses.

Mental health can be hard to talk about.

So I built a menu that does the talking for me. Mental Grillness is a food truck concept built around the idea that food can be more than just something you eat. It can be a conversation starter, a small comfort on a hard day and a way to feel seen, even if just for a moment.

The idea!

Every item on the menu is inspired by real experiences with mental health, approached with a mix of humor, honesty, and empathy. From burgers like "The What-If?", built around anxious overthinking, to "The Snooze Button", inspired by the heavy mornings that come with depression, the goal isn’t to make light of these experiences. It’s to make them easier to talk about.

Why it matters!

Mental health affects everyone differently, but one thing is consistent: it can feel isolating.

Mental Grillness exists to gently push back against that. Not with lectures. Not with pressure. Just with good food, a bit of humor, and the reminder that you’re not the only one who feels the way you do.

Where the money goes!

This campaign is to help cover the startup costs of launching the food truck, including:

- Equipment (grills, fryers, refrigeration)

- The truck or trailer itself

- Food prep and storage setup

- Permits and licensing

- Initial inventory and supplies

Every dollar goes directly toward getting Mental Grillness on the road.

What makes this different!

This isn’t just another food truck.

It’s built with intention:

- Menu items designed to reflect real emotional experiences

- A welcoming, non-judgmental environment

- Plans to support mental health organizations through future initiatives

It’s food, but it’s also something a little more.

How this idea came to be:

Mental Grillness was born from my own experiences with depression and anxiety, and the kind of mornings where even getting out of bed feels like an accomplishment.
