Menstrual Products for Schools

Bleed Shamelessly is a youth-run, Madison-based organization dedicated to achieving menstrual equity and encouraging reproductive justice in Southern Wisconsin. During the beginning of the pandemic, Bleed Shamelessly provided over 4,000 menstrual product kits to people in the Dane County area, raising over $8,000. Currently, Bleed Shamelessly is working to provide more free menstrual products to students and families in the Madison Metropolitan School District, as a part of their COVID-19 relief efforts.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and places of work have closed, limiting the accessibility of menstrual products for students and families across Dane County. Menstrual products are basic medical necessities, in which people are unable to pursue an education or career without. We must ensure that everyone who needs period products, has access to them. All proceeds will be going towards providing menstrual products to students and families in the Madison Metropolitan School District.

If you are interested in taking further action towards menstrual equity in Dane County, consider attending the Virtual Showcase hosted by Bleed Shamelessly on Saturday, January 30th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Throughout the event, Bleed Shamelessly will premiere five videos surrounding menstrual equity education, period poverty, menstrually equitable legislation, and trans-inclusive activism. Additionally, speakers like Senator Melissa Sargent, and youth activists will be sharing their stories, artwork, music, and experiences surrounding menstruation, reproductive justice, and advocacy.
