Hi, I’m Matthew. Most people who know me will be aware that I founded a social enterprise called We Are Men United CIC last year. It’s a male only organisation supporting men 18+ in creating and running free peer support groups to promote mental wellbeing and fitness. It’s a free, face to face service delivered by experienced mental wellbeing coaches. We aim to reduce male suicide in Worcestershire (& beyond)

I did this because in January 2024 my good friends Sally & Andrew, along with their friends and families, all lost their son Harry aged 22 to suicide. We will all, always be devastated at his passing.

But, we’re creating a legacy for Harry, and honouring his short life in our work. Raising funds is our single biggest obstacle to doing more work, and preventing more suicides.

in October, I am a torch bearer for the Baton of Hope in Hereford. I am exceptionally grateful to have been selected from 000’s of applicants.

I am fundraising for them and for Men United; and will split equally, whatever we raise together.

Male suicide is still claiming an average of 13 men EVERYDAY in the UK. This is a shocking and tragic statistic.

Let’s reduce that number together.
