Men's Mental Health: A Journey to Recovery

Hello, my name is Reid Smith, and I’m here today to share my story and the mission behind my new Christian nonprofit organization, Your Reboot Connection. I am asking for your support in creating a safe, supportive, and transformative space for men who are struggling with their mental health.

My journey: From Homelessness to Hope

At 17, I found myself homeless, without a degree, and running from the law. My early years were marked by chaos and poor choices, but through hard work, determination, and resilience, I eventually built a successful career in aviation. I worked with major airlines and Fortune 500 companies, and later, I launched my own business in the aviation industry. But despite my success, life wasn’t easy. Along the way, I faced countless setbacks, including insurmountable hurdles with the government and massive financial losses.

In the face of adversity, I found myself losing everything: my business, my career, my family, and my sanity. Years of emotional abuse led to the unraveling of my personal life. On top of that, I was struggling with financial instability and mental health issues, including Complex PTSD. Ultimately, I was stripped of everything, like Job in the Bible. At one point, I was so broken that I attempted to take my own life.

But that was not the end of my story.

In the darkest moment of my life, I found my faith. Through a series of divine messages, I felt God reach out to me, telling me that I had a purpose and that my trials were meant to equip me to help others. I received many blessings from Jesus, starting with my life. After succumbing to my current life, I gained my eternal life and my path with Jesus. I knew with His divine path that I had to rebuild my life — and this time, it would be to serve others who were going through similar struggles.

The Mission of Your Reboot Connection

Your Reboot Connection is born out of my own journey of faith and rebuilding my life with Jesus. This Christian nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for men who are struggling with mental health challenges.

We will offer:

• A safe space for men to open up, share their stories, and connect with others who understand their struggles.

• Mental health resources to help individuals navigate their path to healing and personal growth.

• Faith-based support grounded in Christian principles, helping men find strength and hope through their relationship with God.

• Programs and workshops designed to address emotional, financial, and relational issues, focusing on rebuilding broken lives.

Why Men?

Men often face unique challenges when it comes to mental health. Society places immense pressure on them to be strong, stoic, and unyielding, which can make it incredibly difficult for them to seek help when they need it most. Too many men suffer in silence, carrying the weight of their struggles alone. I know this from personal experience.

That’s why Your Reboot Connection is dedicated to creating a space where men can find community, healing, and hope. We want to provide a refuge for those who feel lost, broken, or overwhelmed. Whether they’ve been impacted by trauma, mental health issues, addiction, or financial hardship, we want them to know they’re not alone — and that it’s never too late for a reboot.

We are currently raising funds to establish Your Reboot Connection and make this vision a reality. Your generous donation will help us:

God has been with me every step of the way, and I know that He has led me to this moment, to this purpose. With His guidance and your support, we will create a community of healing and transformation for men who need it most.
