Mendoza Family Car Accident Recovery

On Sunday, June 14th I received a phone call that changed the entire trajectory of my life. I was on my way to the first fire roll of the season. I was excited for all the opportunities that laid ahead. Just then the phone rang and the voice on the other end told me something that would drastically change my life and the life of my family forever. I was informed that my dad, Marco, my little sister, Thalia, and my little brother, Marco had been involved in a head on collision while traveling to Phoenix, AZ.  My world came to a screeching halt. But the voice didn't stop there. In slow motion the voice continued to inform me that my little brother, Marco did not survive the accident.

So many questions were roaring in my head. Why is this happening? Where is my dad? Is he alive? What about my sister? I immediately turned around and headed home to make all the necessary arrangements to fly to Phoenix. All I wanted to do was be by my dad's side to comfort him. To hold his hand and tell him that everything was going to be okay. I wanted to stroke my sister's hair and tell her that I love her. Tell my little princess that her big brother was there and that nothing bad could happen.  Unfortunately because of COVID-19 I am unable to be there in person. Instead I am left here in Salt Lake navigating my dad's medical condition via video chat.

At the age of 20, I have been tasked with making life changing decisions for my family. I appreciate all of the out pouring of love and support. I have been asked many times how people can help. No one is ever really prepared for moments like this. I do not have the financial resources needed to help my dad. Please donate what you can to help with my dad medical expenses. Anything and everything helps. 

My entire purpose in life is being the best big brother to all of my siblings. My whole world is shattered and my heart is completely broken. I don't know what I am going to do without my baby brother. Who am I, if I am not a big brother?

UPDATE....
100% of the funds raised in this campaign will go directly to my father, Marco Mendoza. He and he alone will make the decisions on how this money will be utilized ie medical expenses, travel expenses to bring him home, funeral cost WHATEVER HE NEEDS!!! The funds will be dispersed directly to my father once he is out of the hospital. I will keep everyone updated on his status.
