Mendip Hunt Sabs attended over 100 hunt meets last season, including both stag and fox hunts. This took a toll on our trusty group vehicle, which was left with a long list of repairs when the hunting season finished in late spring. In order to get our vehicle safe and ready for the new hunting season, we had to spend over £1.5k in repairs. As well as this, we just had to pay our insurance for the year, which cost over £600.

Our group vehicle is the most important member of our team; without it we cannot attend hunt meets and get in the field to save the lives of persecuted animals. With the high price of fuel, we urgently need to recover these costs to stay active against the hunts.

Mendip Hunt Saboteurs are an HSA affiliated group based in Somerset and our main focus is the fox hunts and stag hunts in the southwest of England. Despite hunting with hounds being made illegal over two decades ago, hunts still routinely flout the law to chase and kill wild animals for fun. We take nonviolent direct action to intervene and save animals' lives, as well as recording video evidence to document law breaking. As a result of our footage, we currently have upcoming court cases against both the Mendip Farmers Hunt and Quantock Stag Hounds for Hunting Act Offences.
