Memory Care for Shirley Faye

Donation protected
Shirley Faye is currently battling middle to late stage Alzheimer's disease. For the past year, her health and cognitive ability have significantly declined and health professionals have recommended that 24-hour memory care is the best treatment option for her at this time. Throughout this journey, Shirley has sought treatment, on and off, at numerous facilities including Unity Psychiatric Hospital, Baptist East, Crestwyn Behavioral Health, Germantown Methodist Hospital, Signature Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Unity Psychiatric Hospital (for a second time), Germantown Methodist (for a second time), The Point at Kirby Gate, and now is currently residing at Foxbridge Assisted Living and Memory Care.
The most unfortunate aspect of Shirley's care is that her dear husband of 52 years, John, has had the most difficult time understanding the severity and reality of her illness. As most spouses would,  John prefers for  Shirley Faye to be at home with him. However, her care needs are so elevated at this point, that being at home is both a serious health risk and liability. The doctors have requested that she remain in a memory care facility or receive 24 hour care through a home-health service provider. Sadly, John is unwilling to accept this request and make the necessary accommodations for her needs.  He wants her to be home and ultimately wants control over all decisions concerning her care.  At many points throughout her transitioning in and out of health facilities, John decided to make the decision to bring her home against medical advice. His decision to bring her home continued to put her health at greater risk. Her daughters, Audrey and Jauna, are currently seeking legal ways to protect both of their parents during this difficult time. Until that time arrives in late June, Shirley needs to remain a patient at this facility for medicinal stability, physical therapy, and extreme memory care.
As expected, this  situation has strained family relationships. Unfortunately, due to lack of financial support from her spouse, Shirley Faye needs your help to remain a dementia patient at Foxbridge.  Your kind donations will help us ensure that Shirley Faye receives the care that not only she needs, but also wholeheartedly deserves. Please continue to pray for Shirley Faye as she adapts to her ever-changing world.  Please also continue to pray for our family- for complete restoration, forgiveness, and healing. We have faith that God is in control of this situation. Thank you for your prayers and support.
