Ryan Lonnquist unexpectedly passed away on January 7th, 2022, leaving behind his 5-year-old son, Myles Lonnquist. Anyone who knew Ryan knew he put Myles above all else. In that pursuit, we created this memorial where the all contributions in Ryan's name, can go directly to Myles and his future endeavors.
Ryan (Lonny) Richard Lonnquist
May 16, 1977 - January 7, 2022
Ryan Richard Lonnquist (Lonny) passed away January 7th, 2022, of sudden cardiac arrest. Ryan grew up in Rosemount and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1995. Preceded in death by grandparents Ervin and Margaret Strese, Uncles Jim, John and Steve Strese, Aunt Joanne Behrends, and cousins Dena and Joshua Jaspers.
Ryan was an avid athlete growing up and played multiple sports for the Rosemount Irish. Ryan graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Education. He went on to earn a master’s degree at Minnesota State University, Mankato and taught 5th grade for over 8 years. In 2004, Ryan was a candidate for Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year.
Ryan continued his path of education but moved it into the gym, becoming the owner of 2 Snap Fitness franchises, and recently owned his own gym in Lakeville, “Train With Lonny”. His gym clientele were some of the most loyal and loved. Whether he was in the classroom or the gym, he was always passionate about helping others succeed.
Ryan loved all Minnesota sports, especially the Vikings, Gophers and Rosemount Irish. He was also an avid country music fan, but the number one greatest love was his son, Myles. They loved all things outdoors including going to sporting events, riding bikes and playing catch.
Survived by son Myles, parents Rich and Mary Kay Lonnquist, brother Eric (and Hayley) Lonnquist, Nephews Chase and Colton, Grandparents Dean and Bev Lonnquist, many aunts and uncles, cousins, clients, and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 24th at 11am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 13900 Biscayne Ave West Rosemount, MN 55068. Visitation Monday, January 24th at 9:30-11am prior to the funeral at St Joseph’s Catholic Church.
