My name is Richie, and I am writing this on behalf of my family to honor the memory of my mom, Emily Margolis. To most, Emily was known for her warmth, generosity, and the way she made everyone feel special. She built a life full of deep friendships, strong family bonds, and countless acts of kindness—big and small. Her creativity was just one of the many ways she expressed her love for others. Some may remember her as the 'envelope artist,' a story that made the news and brought smiles to many, but for those who truly knew her, that was just one example of her joyful spirit and her desire to brighten the lives of those around her.
After a long and courageous battle with stage four cancer, my mom passed away on February 28 at approximately 11:40 AM, with her daughter Jaime and our family by her side. The loss is immeasurable. Emily’s life was filled with countless friends, family, coworkers, and so many others whose lives she touched—often in ways that can’t be defined. She once said, perhaps a little shyly, that she "just liked to make people happy." That simple wish guided everything she did, and it’s why her memory means so much to so many.
Now, as my sister, my father, and I navigate the overwhelming grief and the many details of arranging her funeral, burial, and other household financial hardships we are reaching out to the community she loved so dearly. We humbly ask for your support—whether you knew Emily personally or were simply inspired by her story. Any contribution you are able and willing to make will help us cover the costs of her funeral services and give her the farewell she truly deserves. Thank you for helping us honor her legacy of kindness, creativity, and love.
